Julie Chen Moonves hosts the hit summer reality series Big Brother, which returned for the 22nd season on August 5 with CBS.Chen Moonves was among the original hosts of The Daytime Emmy Award-winning Talk show The Talk, serving as moderator and host from 2010 to 2018. Then it was when she started writing that her passion for writing emerged. Her outstanding talk show also earned the host an Emmy. The show was hosted by her co-hosts CBS News weekday morning show The Early Show between 2002 between 2002 and 2010. Her prior roles included anchoring CBS Morning News and The Early Show. Following the attacks of 9/11 Chen Moonves was able to track down the father and lead hijacker to give an exclusive interview. Chen Moonves also reported for the Emmy-winning CBS Sunday Morning news show, profiling celebrities like Jamie Lee Curtis and Paula Abdul. Chen Moonves also reported for the Emmy-winning CBS Sunday Morning news program which featured celebrities such as Jamie Lee Curtis and Paula Abdul.Prior to The Early Show, Chen Moonves reported as anchor and reporter for the CBS-owned WCBS-TV station in New York City (1997-1999).Before joining CBS News, Chen Moonves was a reporter for WDTN TV Dayton (1995-1997). Previous jobs included working as a reporter at ABC NewsOne, the network's affiliated news service (1992-1995) as well as a desk assistant within ABC News' Los Angeles Bureau (1990-1991) and all the while completing her final year of university in the University of Southern California. She started her career as an assistant at ABC News, working on the late-night program Nightline alongside Ted Koppel. Ted Koppel remains among Moonves' journalistic heros. Chen Moonves was Koppel's co-worker on Anatomy of a Riot (the Premiertime Special of Columbia du-Pont that examined what happened during the Los Angeles riots of 1992).
